Setting of Wi-Fi and changing of the password depends on the brand of gateway which is the modem that Cincinnati Bell has provided the user. To change the password, the users are recommended to contact the Cincinnati Bell technical support and do the needful.

Ø  The user first need to open an Internet browser and enter 192.168.200.1 into the address bar to access the ZTE Router UI

Ø  Then on the left side of the screen he or she needs to click on the Wireless link

Ø  The link will direct the user to the Wireless menu

Ø  There he or she needs to click on the Basic option on the left side of the screen

Ø  Here the user will be allowed to enable their modem’s wireless Internet and set their SSID

Ø  Then make sure that the Enable Wireless checkbox is selected and then choose a name for the wireless network and type it into the SSID field

Ø  Then press the Apply/Save button to affect the changes

Ø  The SSID will now be assigned and will appear in the user computer or device’s wireless networks list

Ø  To set or change the WPA the user need to click on Security under the Wireless tab on the left side of the screen

Ø  Then in the SSID drop-down the user need to make sure that he or she have the desired wireless network selected

Ø  Then click on the Network Authentication drop-down and select WPA-PSK from the list

Ø  Then in the WPA/WAPI passphrase field he or she needs to enter the desired password

Ø  The router’s UI will automatically hide the password as the user type it, but if the user would like to view what he or she have typed then he or she can do so by clicking the Click here to display link

Ø  Then check that the Enable WPS and WEP Encryption drop-downs are both set to Disabled and that the WPA/WAPI Encryption drop-down is set to TKIP+AES

The user need to note that it is important to choose a wireless password that only those in the user home know. For more secure network the user are recommended to select a password that has at least 8 characters and includes both numbers and letters. To ensure that the WPA password is not lost the user may also wish to write it down and secure it somewhere he or she will easily remember.

Ø  Then the user need to hit the Apply/Save button at the bottom of the window to change the password. It will take approximately 1-3 minutes for any wireless changes to be effective. If the user faces any issues after waiting 1-3 minutes then he or she can either contact the Cincinnati Bell technical support or else try rebooting the router. The user can do this by using the power button to turn it off and back on again or can simply pull the power cord from the back of the router and plug it back in

The user need to note that if the user change their SSID then he or she may have to manually set the computers and other devices to join the correct network. If the user change their WPA/WEP then he or she will also have to manually re-enter the password when join the wireless network. If the user is unable to access the Internet after changing the SSID or WPA/WEP then he or she needs to verify that the user is connected to the right network and that are using the most recently selected password.
